Develop, champion and implement reliability programs and processes that improve equipment reliability, yield, energy, and maintenance cost. Use Root Cause Failure Analysis and Reliability techniques to help eliminate equipment failures and implement improvement projects. Champion Site Inspection Program, Predictive/Preventive Programs, Support Technical aspects of predictive maintenance data collection and reliability data analysis.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Provide Maintenance Engineering support to effect process improvement, equipment reliability, cost reduction, ESH improvements and troubleshooting through the leading of improvement teams, impact events, and production/maintenance analysis
  • Initiate investigations and Root Cause Analysis in high cost centers by observing and tracking actual operation. Recommend and justify, in conjunction with operations, upgrading or replacing high cost maintenance items
  • Ensure ESH compliance with Company, Government, and other Agencies requirements as they relate to Capital Projects, Maintenance repairs, and other work performed in the Departments
  • Provide technical knowledge to the Maintenance Department. Define, record, and solve high cost repetitive jobs. Review new area installations to determine that ease of maintaining has been included in the design
  • Accelerate the learning of Production Units, Plant’s maintenance process and SAP in order to make significant contributions to the departments’ success
  • Assist with the management of the Plant’s Mechanical Integrity Program. Provide effective contractor management to ensure cost efficiency and safety
  • Manage capital and expense projects safely and cost effectively for all production departments as needed to assure operational sustainability and safety. Generate and develop capital projects (cost savings, growth, process improvements, maintenance, right to operate projects)
  • Maintain communications and coordination with Production Unit Managers and other Plant Staff
  • Be a self starter. Responsible for meeting Department goals, cost objectives, and work plans with little oversight from Maintenance Manager
  • Conformance with the Valtris Quality and Environmental, Health, Safety and Security policies and awareness of ISO 9001 and RC14001 management system requirements applicable to this position
  • Support implementation and maintenance of the Valtris ISO 9001 and RC14001 management systems

Required Qualifications

  • BS Degree in the sciences, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering
  • Experience in chemical plant process preferred
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, Access, Power Point
  • SAP knowledge
  • Minimum 5 years Supervisory experience
